January 30 Snow!

Although it snowed about 1 week after Micaela was born, this is her fist chance getting to play in it. So, all with about 3 pairs of pants on, 2 sweaters, and jackets....we had a blast. A favorite was our San Diego beach boogie boards that doubles as snow sleds ;-) Mateo did a great job holdingonto his little sister...what a great big brother!

First Pony and Pigtails

Micaela wore her first "ponytail" yesterday. Today she tried "pigtails" for the first time. OK, I have to admit, it is really fun to play with a little girl's hair. Mateo asked me, "Why does she get to wear her hair like that? I don't wear ponytails!"

Also, Micaela has started clapping (mainly when she accomplishes something) and waving 'Hola' on a regular basis. Now, we are busy working on her learning to walk...although from previous experience...no hurry ;-)

One Last Sunny Picnic

Before we had to head to the airport, we enjoyed our last few hours in the San Diego sun with a family picnic at Seaport Village. We had to soak in every last minute of beautiful weather.

Catching Up

We had a great time catching up with Friends from UCSD and La Jolla Elementary. Selfishly we are hoping that all our friends from Miguel's grad school end up out here on the East Coast.

Hotel Fun

We stayed at the Marina in downtown San Diego, just by Seaport Village. The view was fantastic. Mateo could see boats, trains (the trolley), and planes from our window. What more does a 3-year old need?

Backpack Buddies

Mateo visited his good buddy, Josh, while we were in San Diego. They were backpack buddies as they carried toys, looked for planes, and played with marbles. Miguel and I got time to visit with Josh's parents who we miss a ton! It was a great visit!

Lilly and Leonard's

While in SD, we stopped by Mateo's old daycare for a visit. Mateo warmed up to them right away. We really miss them!

Miss you Scramento!
