Familia

Missing everybody already!

More Evidence

Here we have more evidence of the attempted escape in Miraflores. Micaela is trying to use my keys to open the gate ;-)

Trains

Since we have been on airplanes, buses, and boats for our Peru trip, Mateo said that we were only missing a train. So, we headed to Surco so Mateo could ride on the train in the park there. It was really fun and we even found a train for Micaela!

Micaela and Company

One thing I have learned in Peru...Micaela LOVES stairs. Our first purchase for our new house will have to be baby gates! We have also learned that Micaela is quite the escape artist and managed to slip through the gates in front of the house and onto the street sidewalk here in Lima. So much for keeping out those 1-year old robbers ;-)

El Centro de Lima

We had to make the trip to the center of Lima to get some pictures of the kids. While we avoided scarier things like the catacombs, we did enjoy fountains, chasing birds, going on a horse ride, and visiting the cathedral. Mateo asked to say a prayer about Abuelito Jorge since he knows that he is with Jesus...it was really sweet!

Parque De Las Leyendas

We went to the zoo in Lima and the kids really enjoyed it. We walked so much that Mateo, Tia Maria, and Abuelita Yola promptly took naps upon our return ;-) A few favorite animals were the llamas and the otters. Plus, everyone loved the boat ride.

Peru...we're back...+1

Taking Tiago's advice, we head to the parks on the Malecon almost every day.

Mateo loves this tunnel that looks like a dragon...it is pretty big! He even goes up and down it on his own now.

I am sooo thankful that we purchased this double stroller. It was pretty cheap in comparison to the other doubles. So far it is holding up well and we are using it ALL the time! I forget how much you walk here...good thing too, hopefully it will help combat all the delicious food we are eating here!

Lima Fountain Park (Parque de la reserva)

Tia Maria and Lita Yola took us to see the new water spectacular in Lima. It was a late night for the kids, but they both LOVED it. Mateo couldn't believe we were going out so late. And he loved his "canchita" that Lita Yola bought him. I am so glad we went, the kids had a blast and Micalea got to practice two of her new favorite words, "wow" and "agua."
