Bean Town

" Oh, to be a revolutionary..."

We spent the last four days in Boston. Miguel was presenting at the AHA conference and we decided to tag along. I fell in love with the city! This group of pictures are of the church that displayed the lanterns that warned how the British were coming during the start of the revolution. This church was a point of interest on the Freedom Trail. We walked a lot of the trail, enduring the cold New England weather.

Inside the church...

A view of the harbor and the Bunker hill monument in the background.

Crossing the bridge to get the "Old Iron Sides."

We met up with our great friends, Stephanie (also in town for the conference), Alex, and their two kids Ixchel and Adrian. Ixchel and Mateo hit it off right away :-)

Mateo and Miguel enjoying the museum and fighting off and attack:

My money would be on Superman...

Experiencing the life of a sailor:

It was dark by the time we left the museum...this is Old Iron Sides at night with the city in the background.

Below are pictures from Paul Revere's house, which he bought in 1770. It was actually constructed in the 1600's and is the only structure that old left in downtown Boston.

This amazing church was across the plaza from our hotel, right by the Boston Public Library. I just loved the look of this church, especially at night.

Tar - Heels

The family enjoyed a UNC men's basketball game, Mateo and Micaela's first. It was lots of fun...and we won :-)
